Patriots Matt Cassel Rumors & Talk

As expected, Matt Cassel will sign the franchise offer from the Patriots and in doing so will pay omige to the coaching staff that made him great. After already admitting that he will take a back-up role in the Patriots system, Cassel should have no reservations about signing a contract with a team ready to trade him. Cassell should absolutely be ready to fly to Kansas City. Not only will he be helping his own career by joining the Chiefs, but he can also give the New England fans a solid number one running back in Larry Johnson. Let's face it. Larry Johnson is clearly not happy with the Chiefs, and there is no better home for a disgruntled half back than the New England Patriots. Corey Dillon was deemed uncoachable by Cinncinati, but he was a machine for the Patriots.
Scott Pioli is newly in charge of the Kansas City Chiefs and it was his call to bring Cassell to New England in the first place. I'm sure with the draft picks the Chiefs have aquired, he will have no problem unloading a giant contract like Larry Johnson's for a bonified starting quarterback like Matt Cassell.
No doubt if this trade happens, the Patriots will have the fire power to make it to another Super Bowl. They will dominate season wide and finish what they hoped for in 2007. If Larry Johnson becomes a Patriot we might just hear,"New England Patriots Super Bowl champs!"
